The Finished Chicken Ark

Here is our finished chicken ark or chicken tractor. You can see that the two Cochin Bantams and our two baby Frizzles love their new home.

Chicken Ark

Notice how we added handles on each side of the chicken tractor for easy moving. It was rather heavy from the onset, but as the wood is naturally drying out it is becoming lighter and lighter.

Notice in the above picture how you have the cable coming out of the ark. You can pull this cable and secure it to a hook on the side of the chicken tractor to bring up the ramp in the bottom and protect your chickens from chicken predators at night.

Chicken Ark Nesting Boxes

Chicken Ark and Cochin Bantam

We enjoyed building this chicken tractor and we plan on building a couple of more in different styles. We are going to document that for you and even plan to make some instructive video on the process. Stay Tuned!!
