Hi, I had that problem with my 6 rhode islands. We couldn't wait for them to lay and they showed no sign of starting so we met a lady who told us to feed them lots more and varied food and within a week it worked.
We boiled up potato skins, carrot and parsnip peelings and mashed up brown bread into the mixture which soaked up the cooking juices. They loved it. We still treat them to this every sunday!
