Whenever you buy chickens do your homework on the breed, and make sure you can give them a good home. It's always a good idea to quarantine new poultry away from your main flock for 1-2 weeks. A change of location can be stressful for chickens. This can lower their immune responses and cause illnesses that might spread to others.
